The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at the University of Washington School of Public Health seeks an outstanding Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to examine the connections between heat exposure, climate, conservation interventions, and health.  The successful candidate will receive an academic appointment as a Senior Fellow. Senior Fellows at the University of Washington (UW) are considered junior faculty equivalent in rank to a Research Associate. The position is intended to extend professional training for a candidate who recently received a terminal Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent. Opportunities for continued training are available. Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist is responsible for contributing to the CHI Health mission and vision by providing expertise in the development, implementation, and monitoring of CHI Health corporate Safety Program.

The Safety Specialist ensures CHI facilities have implemented the required elements of safety and accident reduction programs, identified additional opportunities with the facilities for safety improvements and works with the management group to develop the appropriate control mechanisms. An important part is also monitoring regulatory and accredited safety compliance. All efforts must be done in a coordinated fashion to support the strategic and operational needs of the organization focusing on both quality and cost-efficiency.   • If you are an incoming/Fall 2019 UNMC student, your first day of work cannot be before the first day of classes (August 26th).

CDC Epidemiology Fellowship with the SENSOR-Pesticides program

A research opportunity is currently available with the Health Informatics Branch, in the Division of Field Studies and Engineering (DFSE), within the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Cincinnati, Ohio. The selected participant will be with the SENSOR-Pesticides program, and will be involved with conducting surveillance studies of acute pesticide-related illness and injury, with a focus on those caused by work-related exposures.

CDC EIS Application now open!

Applications are now open for CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS).

EIS officers are CDC’s disease detectives responsible for investigating and responding to outbreaks and other public health emergencies in the U.S. and around the world. Our Disease Detectives receive training and are placed either at CDC headquarters, field stations, or with a state or local health department. We are seeking service-oriented physicians, veterinarians, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and doctoral-level scientists for the incoming Class of 2020, with training beginning on July 6, 2020.

Applications are due May 22, 2019.
