The Graduate Program in Public Health at University of Southern Maine’s Muskie School of Public Service invites applications for a Research Faculty position (Assistant or Associate) in Public Health, with an emphasis on epidemiology or biostatistics.  The position will also involve an adjunct faculty appointment with the Maine Medical Center Research Institute’s Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation. This is a 12-month, full-time, non-tenure track position that begins January 1, 2018, or as soon as possible. This position is fully funded for 2.5 years, with support from the Maine Economic Improvement Fund, the state’s research and development funding. Continued employment of the selected candidate after the first 2.5 years will be contingent upon the availability of academic and research funding. The Bureau of Health Promotion, within the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, is seeking masters-level or doctoral-level epidemiologists skilled in SAS programming and analysis to join an experienced team of chronic disease and injury epidemiologists. There are two open positions: one position in the area of injury prevention and control and the other in the area of chronic disease.

Post-Doctoral Fellow (Specializing in Cancer/Behavioral Epi & Analyses)

The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health at Temple University is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to specialize in behavioral aspects and related analyses of cancer prevention and control.

Candidates should be highly motivated with an interest in opportunities for publishing both methodological and applied research manuscripts as well as developing grant proposals with a goal toward becoming a successful independent researcher in cancer prevention and control. The successful candidate will have an active role in interdisciplinary studies in behavioral epidemiology; experience in cancer screening is preferred.

Special Projects Coordinator

The Metro Omaha Medical Society (www.omahamedical.com) is a non-profit, professional organization dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of its member physicians in their roles as both providers and patient advocates. We are currently seeking a candidate who is detail oriented, able to manage multiple projects, and has demonstrated proficient writing skills to serve as the Special Projects Coordinator (currently part-time, with possibility to become full-time). Job duties are as follows:

 

  • Co-manages grant from The Physicians Foundation to reduce physician burnout and improve resiliency
  • Manages the Medical Society Public Health Committee
  • Manages administrative duties of the Immunization Task Force
  • Represents the Medical Society at various community initiatives focused on public health
  • Serves as the liaison to medical students and residents/fellows regarding membership and programming
  • Helps to orchestrate CME opportunities for member physicians
  • Assist in seeking out future grants and writing proposals
