CHI Health is seeking a Project Coordinator for their 5-4-3-2-1 Go! ® Healthy Kids lifestyle campaign.
The Community Benefit & Healthier Communities (CB&HC) team at CHI Health has been implementing a campaign promoting healthy habits to children in kindergarten through 5th grade in multiple counties in Nebraska for several years. The goal of this initiative is to reduce overweight/obesity in children in CHI Health service areas through a community-wide campaign using the 5-4-3-2-1 Go! ®message. The main strategies include engagement in schools and out-of-school setting, promotion in clinics, and outreach in the community through events and media. The Coordinator will execute current work plans in Douglas, Sarpy, and Cass Counties, assist leads in Colfax and Pierce counties to execute their work plans, and work with the Community Benefit team to develop additional strategies which may or may not include expanding to other communities. Project Coordinator Position
Start Date: January 2018
Project coordinator for multi-site clinical trial. The coordinator will review all study related documents, including protocol, Case Report Forms, Manual of Procedures, Quality and Data Management Plans, Clinical Monitoring Plans and Safety Monitoring plans. The coordinator will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator, to facilitate the recruitment and enrollment of an adequate number of appropriate subjects, using appropriate language skills as needed. The coordinator will also work closely with the lead Project/Data Manager from a partnering institution to maintain consistency in administration, data management and reporting. Responsibilities will include writing and maintaining regulatory documents with the IRB, data management, and overseeing the conduct and documentation associated with all study aims. Position will involve weekly travel throughout New York City to project locations.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree, with emphasis on communication or public health
Preferred Education: Master’s in Public Health
Required Experience: At least two years’ experience coordinating a health service program or research program
Preferred Experience: Experience in community-based administration. Experience in research project or clinical trial coordination. Experience in early childhood health.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent organizational skills with strong individual initiative. Very good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities and populations. Strong computing skills and excellent writing skills.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Grant writing and administration skills. Strong presentation skills. Knowledge in budget management. Spanish language skills.

United Way of the Midlands is seeking a paid intern to begin in December and work through June 2018.
The United States Department of Agriculture, National Institute of Food and Agriculture awarded United Way of the Midlands a Community Food Planning grant to develop a comprehensive plan to reduce food insecurity and improve the nutritional quality of food in our region. The plan will be co-created over a 9-month period with input stakeholders across sectors to determine a vision, goals and strategies for food security in our region.
Overall, the intern will contribute to project administration and logistics, and assist with the development of deliverables that constitute a Community Food Plan.
