SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) Internship Program. [twc.edu]

The SAMHSA Internship Program is a full-time (at least 33 hours per week) internship that lasts 10 weeks in the Summer and 15 weeks in both the Fall and Spring. SAMHSA is located in Rockville, MD and internships are in-person COVID-pending. This program allows interns to work under the guidance of a SAMHSA manager in a department [samhsa.gov] whose focus matches the students’ interests. Professional development sessions are also included for the students to enhance their knowledge and marketability.

This is a fully funded program sponsored by SAMHSA. This means that housing and roundtrip travel are completely covered for the student. A sizable stipend is also provided to alleviate other living expenses and local transportation costs.

Applications for our Summer 2022 Session are due February 3, 2022, by 10:00PM ET. Individuals from underrepresented groups in STEM are encouraged to apply.

Public health-oriented students at Schools of Public Health may attend upcoming SAMHSA Informational Webinars, organized by The Washington Center for Internships and Seminars (see more opportunities here: a variety of Funded Federal Diversity Internships [twc.edu]) :
