Data Analyst & Epidemiologist

The University of Pennsylvania is looking for a Data Analyst & Epidemiologist to serve in their Student Health Services. This position is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and communicating data that will inform Campus Health, Student Health Service, and the larger division of University Life in their respective efforts to promote wellness, prevent disease, and educate the Penn community. The functions of this position include analyzing data to inform disease prevention efforts; identifying disease patterns to help develop interventions; supporting ongoing health and wellness programs in evaluation; and monitoring and reporting various conditions required by the City, State and Federal public health authorities. This position will allow for involvement in numerous activities such as assessment, programming (including outreach), education, intervention, grant writing and research.

Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Public Health preferred, Bachelor’s Degree required with a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in data analysis and epidemiology. Proficiency with data management/analysis software (SAS, SPSS or comparable) and data management software (MS Access or Excel) preferred. Requires meticulous attention to detail excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, ability to work well in a team setting and utilize new technologies. Ability to be a self starter and work independently is essential. Demonstrated background in prevention work with a high degree of multicultural awareness required. Strongly prefer candidates with experience and comfort with clinical and interdisciplinary collaboration.
