Department of Family Medicine Assistant Professor, Andrea Jones, MD, will be taking on a new role as the medical director and physician contact at the Girls Inc. Katherine Fletcher Center, which includes a Nebraska Medicine clinic.
The clinic will provide services to girls who are 5-18 years of age and will focus on immediate care, physicals and reproductive health and wellness.
“The clinic at Girls Inc. supports Nebraska Medicine’s efforts in helping women and children lead safe and healthy lives in North Omaha,” Dr. Jones said . “It will not only serve as a health clinic but also has the potential to facilitate exposure to health care careers and spark the interest of young ladies in the community to seek out educational opportunities at UNMC.”
The clinic is set to open in July or August.
