Sub-intern Haley Mathews presented “Body Mass Index Trend in Patients Presenting for Colonoscopy Over 7 Years” and HO-III Mitch Martin presented “Running Miles Without the Smiles: An Exploration of Alternative Treatment”.
Department of Family Medicine faculty members Dr. Birgit Khandalavala, Dr. Jessica Koran-Scholl, and Dr. Jenenne Geske were recently published in the Peer-Reviewed Reports in Medical Education (PRiMER). PRiMER is a STFM journal.
The 6th Annual Resident Research Symposium on Wednesday, March 27, featured poster presentations and oral presentations from Department of Family Medicine residents. The top presenters are recognized at the annual event attended by faculty, residents, and staff. This year’s winners were:

Second Place: Dr. Cade Craig for “An Evolving Curriculum: Improving Resident Education on Billing and Coding and Changes Affecting Future Reimbursements”
First Place: Dr. Faraz Ghoddusi for “Racial Disparities in Pain Management during Child Birth”
Second Place: Dr. Kevin Visser for “WFPB: Is it evidence based?”
