On Tuesday, February 20, the Family Medicine Interest Group hosted medical students and Omaha area family medicine residents for the group’s annual resident panel.
Cade Craig, MD, represented the UNMC Department of Family Medicine Residency Program. Residents from Creighton University and Clarkson Family Medicine were also present to offer their perspective.
As one of the most popular meetings for FMIG during the year, many UNMC medical students attend to ask questions and get advice.
Residents shared their experiences in choosing a Family Medicine career, highlighting the variety and patient relationships that one sees as a Family Medicine provider. The panel offered advice about fully immersing yourself in 3rd year rotations and reminded students to take advantage of audition and away rotations as Family Medicine physicians are highly sought after.
