The UNMC Family Medicine Interest Group (FMIG) welcomed the Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians to their monthly meeting held on September 29.
The Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians Executive Vice President, Liz Simon, President-Elect and Family Medicine Assistant Professor, Dr. Aaron Lanik and board chair of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Dr. Robert Wergin spoke about American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) membership and their experience in Family Medicine.
Students enjoyed lunch and heard from Dr. Wergin about his involvement in the American Academy of Family Physicians and what daily life is like for him at his practice in Milford. Students were encouraged to join the AAFP and attend the NAFP’s annual fall conference.
The 2017-2018 Family Medicine Interest Group officers were also recognized by Dr. Lanik for their efforts.
