Staff Completes Foundations for Success

Department of Family Medicine administrative associate, Dianna Flores, and student health associate, Cristin Kohlscheen are recent graduates of the 2017 ‘Foundations for Success’ program hosted by UNMC.

‘Foundations for Success’ is a career development and networking series for Office/Service staff of the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The goal of the series is to strengthen employees’ skills foundation so that they experience the highest level of functioning in their current position and are motivated to advance forward as leaders in their current/future UNMC positions.

Through several sessions, Flores and Kohlscheen gained personal insight about their work styles.

“We learned about the three different leadership dimensions; Inspire, Respect and Rewards and their components would assist in being a better leader.  We also did several group actives on how these correlate with the UNMC/Nebraska Medicine Values,” Kohlscheen said.

Participants attended four sessions on a variety of topics including, Valuing People, Optimizing Our Work, Owning Change and Personal Development, Navigating Difficult Conversations, and Values and Transformational Leadership.
