Project SEARCH intern reflects on time in Family Medicine

Project SEARCH intern, Matt Mulligan, spent ten weeks in the UNMC Department of Family Medicine as a clerical assistant. His positive attitude and helpful nature made him a valuable asset to staff and faculty.

“Having Matt with us was a wonderful experience,” Matt’s Family Medicine department mentor, Sarah Frink, said.

“He helped us file, organize, and execute processes throughout the department.  We are appreciative of the time and effort he put into every task that he was assigned.  Thank you, Matt!”

Matt also found value in his time as an intern.

“I have really enjoyed working in family medicine these last few months. I have learned to copy, file and scan documents. I have also met a lot of great people who have helped me and taught me. They explained how to do the projects. My instructors say I have come a long way from when I first started Project SEARCH for which I am grateful for,” Matt said.

The Department of Family Medicine made sure Matt left with some UNMC gear so he could continue to represent the University. Thank you again, Matt!
