Department of Family Medicine faculty gathered on Saturday, November 12 at the UNO Thompson Center for their annual retreat.
Led by department chairman Dr. Michael Sitorius, the conversation was centered around the topic, “What is our (your) future academic role?”.
The goal was to create a 1-3 year vision surrounding topics within the department. The group focused on creating concrete action items and next steps for the future.
Topics discussed included Medical School Education, Residency Education, Quality and Patient Safety, Scholarly Activity, and Career Development.
Small group sessions and large group discussions gave attendees time to think about the next steps for the department.
