Wellness Promotion and Prevention Coordinator, Student Health and Counseling, UNK

Job Description or Duties

The Wellness Promotion and Prevention Coordinator will provide leadership in all aspects of health promotion, education, and prevention activities related to student health and well-being at UNK. The position works towards a shared agenda of broad-based cultural and systemic change through strong systemic connections with campus and community partners. Plans and implements campus programs and department curriculum.  Sets health goals/priorities for campus education based on American College Health Association/National College Health Assessment data and consistent with initiatives of the offices within Student Health and Counseling. Conduct data analysis utilizing SPSS, IRB, survey development, data trends, etc. Recruits, selects, and trains peer health educators and volunteers as well as provides oversight and direction to peer health educators. Teaches students the fundamentals of communication and presentation skills. Grant management: responsible for executing programming consistent with grant funding as well as keeping track of expenses. Coordinate and Chair UNK Substance Use Task Force Coalition, which includes scheduling meeting times with on and off campus stake holders; providing training opportunities to task force members; and, working with members to provide them with resources and grant funds to enhance their alcohol free programs. Plans and implements campus programs and events that promote healthy, safe, and responsible living. Maintain positive working relationships with a variety of regional, statewide and local coalitions to communicate UNK efforts and develop potential collaboration opportunities.
