GIS Support Technician

Create and maintain land records using GIS software and other resources (e.g. surveyor’s field notes, metes and bounds descriptions, non-detailed plats) in order to establish a permanent pictorial record of the legal ownership division of the land in Douglas County.

Update cadastral layers and maps in order to reflect changing divisions of land ownership.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, supervisors, County employees, elected officials, attorneys, law enforcement, judges, other agencies, and the public.

Comply with Civil Service policies and regulations, collective bargaining agreements, County policies, and laws to create a cooperative, safe, respectful and quality work environment.

Research legal descriptions of property ownership boundaries to resolve questions of ownership.

Research and update parcel information due to corrections, splits or combinations.

Perform assigned functions utilizing the CAMA system and mainframe database.
