Bridge to Care is an interdisciplinary student-run organization that seeks to facilitate positive health care outcomes for recently resettled refugees. They are currently preparing for their upcoming Refugee Health Fair and they need volunteers! This is a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and engage with local refugees, community leaders, and local healthcare providers. The health fair provides free health screenings, flu shots, and health education for refugees living in the Omaha area.
The health fair is on October 15 from 10am-2pm. It will take place at Benson High School. There are several volunteer options available for that day ranging from providing health education to helping refugee families navigating the many booths available. If you are interested in volunteering or have questions, please e-mail alexandra.springman@unmc.edu. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with follow-up asking your preferred volunteer duty.
