EMPOWER is a Service Learning Legacy Project here at UNMC that works to raise awareness of sexual and domestic violence and provide educational opportunities for the community. They are hosting UNMC’s It’s On Us Week with the Title IX office and will also be holding their annual fundraiser this Friday! Here are the details of the events:
- Rise to the Occasion – It’s On Us to Intervene and Don’t be a Bystander
- Wednesday, October 19 in the Sorrell Commons 7:00am-8:00am
- Free coffee, donuts, and phone pockets while supplies last!
- It’s On Us – Fall Fest
- Thursday, October 20 at the Ice Rink 3:00pm-5:00pm (rain location Sorrell Commons)
- Free caramel apple bar, campus resources, activities, and door prizes! There will be a human ribbon photo shoot at 4:00pm, and free UNMC It’s On Us t-shirts will be provided. Wear your shirt if you already have one!
- Thursday, October 20 at the Ice Rink 3:00pm-5:00pm (rain location Sorrell Commons)
- Fall FUNdraiser at Bellevue Berry Farm
- Friday, October 21 at 11001 South 48th Street 7:00pm-11:00pm
- Tickets are $20 and include admission to the venue, a wristband for the haunted hayrack ride, campfire, dinner, drinks, s’mores, and a chance to win door prizes! This is a family friendly event and children 2 and under are free.
- All funds raised will help EMPOWER provide health education to domestic violence survivors and learning opportunities for future providers.
