The Department of Psychiatry gathered at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch on a beautiful Saturday night.

This year, organizers issued more than 300 tickets for the Oct. 1, 2022 fall party. Faculty, students, and staff brought friends, partners, and family members to the night of food and fellowship.

“It was an amazing time to celebrate with our team,” said Department of Psychiatry Chair Howard Liu, MD, MBA. “It’s always a fun occasion to meet loved ones around a campfire, toasty S’mores, and fresh caramel apple and pumpkin pie!”

Department Medical Scheduler Barbara Harrison has helped organize the event since it started.

“We started off with just two campfires,” she said. “On the trees behind us, we hung our purses and jackets. We have moved to bigger locations throughout the years as more and more people have come out to Vala’s. We did skip one year (2020) because of COVID, but we have been back out at Vala’s the past two years at a bigger location where everyone can spread out and have fun.”
