As of March 18, the library is adjusting its current virtual services to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff.
Virtual services will continue to be available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Reference and AskUs Assistance
Questions directed to AskUs@unmc.edu, the AskUs form, 402-559-6221, or chat will continue to be answered by our library staff. Literature search requests will continue to be monitored. Priority for these services will be given to urgent patient care requests. Outside of regular hours, librarians will monitor AskUs@unmc.edu and AskUs and literature search form submissions for urgent patient care requests.
Online resource access issues will continue to be addressed. EndNote installation requests will continue to be processed.
Liaison Hours
Librarians will hold office hours via Zoom. Schedule a Zoom consultation with your liaison librarian or email Askus@unmc.edu for assistance with a referral.
Interlibrary Loan Services
Interlibrary loan services will continue through online request submission. Staff will be available to address questions or issues at 402-559-7085 or illdept@unmc.edu. Update: ILL has resumed requesting print books. Due to the availability of collections by lending libraries, there may be a delay.
Instruction
Currently scheduled library instruction sessions will be moved to the online environment.
Writing Center
The Writing Center is available for online assistance only. Appointments are required for online sessions.
Anatomical Model Checkout
Beginning March 16, anatomical models will be unavailable for check out. We apologize for the inconvenience. Virtual anatomy resources are available on the library’s Clinical Resources page: Visible Body and Acland Anatomy.
3D Printing
3D printing will be unavailable at this time.
Dissertation and Theses Binding
Binding of theses and dissertations is now available. All copies should be mailed to the library at zip 6705 or USPS 986705 Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha NE 68198-6705. See the binding website for further instructions and the online form for payment.
Special Collections and Archives
Reference questions can be sent to history@unmc.edu. If you wish to donate physical items to the special collections, arrangements can be made upon our return to campus.
