Andy Marking, MHA, RRT, recently joined our respiratory care faculty as an assistant professor and director of clinical education. Here’s more about Andy in his own words:
I am looking forward to the transition from Nebraska Medicine to UNMC to be a part of the development and implementation of the inaugural master’s in respiratory care program. After working in the clinical environment for 20 years I am eager to embrace the new challenge, I believe those years of experience at the bedside will benefit me in this new role as well as my future students. Along with a dedication to the advancement of the respiratory profession I have a passion for soccer – playing and also coaching. I have coached players from elementary age all the way up to collegiate student-athletes for the past 12+ years, hopefully, those coaching strategies and skills will come in handy in my new role.
My wife, Elissa, and I traveled all over the U.S. for many years before finding our home in Omaha. We now have three young children; Everett (8), Rowan (4), and Mina (2) and we just welcomed a rescue pup into our home as well. We enjoy traveling, camping, and being outdoors as much as possible. In fact, we just got back from a vacation to Ireland and Croatia. It was an incredible time!
