For the first time, allied health professions will be included in a summer enrichment program for underrepresented students interested in health care. The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) will include the physician assistant (PA) profession this year and rotate to physical therapy (PT) next year.
Nursing and public health will also now participate in the program previously known as the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP).
