Elizabeth “Liz” Wellsandt, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS, recently joined our faculty ranks in the division of physical therapy education. She is a native of Hartington, NE, and a 2009 graduate of UNMC’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. After three years of clinical practice she pursued formal research training and graduated from the University of Delaware with a PhD in Biomechanics and Movement Science in May 2016. Her research interests include ACL injury and the development of early onset osteoarthritis after knee injury.
Liz resides in Omaha with her husband, Michael (also a 2009 graduate of UNMC’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program) and their two sons, Charlie (2.5 years) and Henry (8 months). In her free time she enjoys camping, hiking, biking, home renovations, and sporting activities (especially Husker athletics).
