CAHP staff member & family make ornaments for charity

Looking for a stocking stuffer or special ornament for the season? Want to be charitable while you shop? Look no further…

Kristy Carlson, PhD, project study specialist in the CAHP, and her family do an annual fund raising event. Her two children make ornaments out of LEGO© blocks and sell them on their website, www.ornaments4charity.com. (You can  view the WOWT story pictured above, here.)

Ornaments 4 Charity is a non-profit organization run by the Carlson family (Eric, Kristy, Brandon and Aidan). Their mission is to support shelters in creating a safe space for children who are dealing with a stressful situation.

Each year 100% of the proceeds from the sale of LEGO© ornaments are used to purchase basic supplies for children and families to make daily activities a little easier. As Brandon said in a 2011 interview, “Every kid deserves a good life.”

This year, proceeds from the sales of ornaments will benefit children and families at Stephen Center.

To date the Carlsons have raised over $27,000 to support children living in homeless and domestic violence shelters.
