At the end of June, Tammy Roehrs, PT, MA, NCS, will be leaving the Division of Physical Therapy Education to pursue other professional opportunities. Tammy joined the division in June, 1996, teaching the clinical neuroscience courses. In 2006, Tammy became the Interim Director of Clinical Education and Director of Clinical Education in 2007 after a national search. Tammy received numerous honors and awards while on faculty at UNMC. She became a Neurology Certified Specialist in physical therapy in 2002 and was recertified in 2010. She is also a credentialed trainer for clinical instructors. In 2006 she was recipient of the SAHP Outstanding Teacher Award.
On a personal note, during her time at UNMC, Tammy’s family has grown significantly. She now has three beautiful girls who keep her and her husband, Troy, quite busy. Together, they are also the owners of a private physical therapy practice, Horizon Spine Rehabilitation. There is no doubt these things will provide Tammy with plenty of opportunities to remain busy both personally and professionally. Please respond with your well-wishes for Tammy.
Best wishes, Tammy. As an alum and clinical instructor, I am sad to lose you as part of the program. Your enthusiasm with which you taught neuro made neuro tolerable and even *gasp* enjoyable for me even though I was convinced that I HATED neuro. I wish you all the best on your new path. Thank you for all you have done.
Good luck, Tammy!
