2013 HHMI Investigator Competition

The Howard Hughes Medical Institute‘s Investigator Program seeks to appoint up to thirty new biomedical researchers through a national open competition. The initiative represents an investment of approximately $200 million in basic biomedical research by the institute.

Those selected through the competition will receive a five-year appointment to HHMI. Appointees become full-time employees of the institute and receive their full salary and benefits from HHMI, as well as a component of their research funding.

Candidates apply directly to HHMI. The competition places no restrictions on the number of applications from any eligible institution.

The deadline for applications is June 13, 2012. Eligibility for the competition must be established before May 1, 2012.

Detailed information about the competition, including the list of eligible institutions, an FAQ, and access to the secure application site, are available at the HHMI Web site.
