Working in a Small Town

National Rural Health Day (NRHD) is celebrated each year on the third Thursday of November. This day “is an opportunity to “Celebrate the Power of Rural” by honoring the selfless, community-minded spirit that prevails in rural America. NRHD showcases the efforts of rural healthcare providers, State Offices of Rural Health and other rural stakeholders to address the unique healthcare challenges that rural citizens face today and into the future.”

NRHD this year will be celebrated tomorrow, November 18th! In honor of this, we are sharing the following video from Stacie Christensen, PT, DPT’08 who lives and works in a small town. She shares the benefits of working in a rural community while noting some considerations that make her practice different from providers in cities.

Take a moment to listen and learn about what it means to practice rural health!
