How Do I Find or Become a Mentor?

In last week’s blog post, you heard from Ernest Sigler, DDS’75 about the importance of a mentor. Now, you might be thinking, “How do I find or become a mentor?”

Well, we have an answer for you! Our online community for UNMC students and alumni, Alumni Connections, is the perfect place for you to find a mentor or mentee. On the site, you can use powerful filtering tools to search for others who are in the same location, have similar interests or identity groups, and more! You can also take a matching quiz that analyzes your answers to suggest connections who will be a great match for you.

Not sure you want to commit to being in a long-term mentorship? No problem! The site facilitates “flash mentoring” (one-time meetings), too. Once you’ve found a connection, you can message them (using optional suggested templates) and set up a video meeting all within the Alumni Connections platform.

So, are you ready to join? Hit the button below, or watch the 2-minute overview video below to see what the site has to offer. We can’t wait to see you on Alumni Connections soon!

If you have any questions, please contact Laura Olson in the Alumni Relations Office at lauraj.olson@unmc.edu.
