Being an Inclusive Healthcare Provider

In all fields of work, being aware of the diversity around you is important. It is easy to make assumptions based on our own background, experiences and worldview. Learning about the perspectives of others and consciously challenging our own assumptions goes a long way in creating more inclusive environments.

Desi Bailey, MD’75 makes an effort to do this when providing care to her patients. She shares advice for anyone providing healthcare about the importance of being culturally competent.
