Advice to New Cytotechnology Graduates

We can’t believe commencement was one week ago! We welcomed nearly 1,000 new healthcare professionals into the UNMC alumni family!

One important group we want to celebrate are our cytotechnologists.

Cytotechnologists are lab professionals who evaluate patients’ cell samples and are trained to notice subtle changes to accurately detect precancerous, malignant, and infectious conditions.

Definition from Mayo Clinic

Today, May 13, is National Cytotechnology Day. We’re celebrating our cytotechnologists and graduation by sharing advice to new grads from Mary F. McGaughey, CT(ASCP) ‘10.
