With an eye for service to community, our physician assistant education faculty and staff spent a day volunteering at Open Door Mission last week.
They organized and recorded prescription medications of residents and clients, and restocked and organized donated health care materials in the storeroom.
PA program director, Michael Huckabee, PhD, said, “It was an amazing day seeing all that Open Door Mission is providing to men, women, and families in our community at their greatest time of need. It was also good to step out of my world at UNMC to have a better understanding of the challenges many around us face and the avenues of hope available.”
