Friday, July 10, 2009 was the inaugural walk for the School of Allied Health Professions’ new walking club. “This fitness activity was the brainchild of our Staff Leadership Council,” said Sue Miyeno, council chair. “It’s our contribution to the wellness initiatives on campus, something simple to get folks up out of their chairs for 15 minutes a day.”
The club is open to anyone who would like to join the short trek. We’ll meet up every weekday morning at 10:30 a.m. in front of Bennett Hall room 3011 (the Reading Room).
Despite the thick humidity today, we ventured outdoors from Bennett Hall to Dewey, up the hill to 41st Street and around the green space between the Sorrell building and the College of Pharmacy, then back to Bennett in exactly 15 minutes. Luckily, I took my cell phone along and snapped a commemorative picture.
Look at us go….and we had so much fun on our scenic route. Can’t wait for Monday!
