Welcome new faculty: Anne Woodruff Jameson

Anne Woodruff Jameson

Anne Woodruff Jameson, PT, DPT, is a new assistant professor in our physical therapy program in Omaha. Here’s more about Anne in her own words:

I am excited to join the College of Allied Health Professions as a transfer employee from the Munroe-Meyer Institute. I was born and raised in Omaha, attended Truman State University in Missouri for my undergraduate degree, did a brief stint at Disney World in Florida, and returned to Omaha for the physical therapy program at UNMC. After PT school I traveled as a pediatric PT in Michigan in North Carolina and returned to Omaha (again) to begin working at MMI in 2016.

Most of my clinical experience has been in pediatrics, along with pelvic health and home health. My work with young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities seeking competitive wage employment and access to women’s health services compelled me to pursue my PhD to examine physical therapists’ potential to help improve these access issues.

Throughout my career, I have loved working with PT students as a clinical instructor. My more recent experiences guest lecturing for UNMC’s PT program were energizing, which made me consider taking on a greater role in education. I am excited to work with students, coordinate courses, and teach as a greater part of my time while still engaging in some clinical and research work. Some of my greatest teachers and mentors came from the PT program at UNMC, and it is humbling to be a part of this group.

In addition to being a new faculty member, I’m also a mom, a wife, and the oldest of four sisters. I enjoy playing board games, watching movies with my family, reading for my book clubs, and listening to podcasts while I walk my dog.
