Leah Stade, OTD, academic fieldwork coordinator and assistant professor of the occupational therapy program in the College of Allied Health Professions, was recently honored by the University of Nebraska-Kearney as a 50th anniversary Title IX Trailblazer.

UNK marked 50 years of the landmark law, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs receiving Federal financial assistance, by honoring alums from each of its women’s sports programs. Dr. Stade, who competed in track and field as an undergrad at UNK, still holds the Loper women’s indoor triple jump record. She was a three-time NCAA Division II All-American for finishing in the top 10 in national meets. Dr. Stade works at the Heath Science Education Complex in Kearney.
