CAHP students receive BCBS scholarships

Four students in the CAHP received Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska-University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK) Health Services Scholarships. The recipients were Ryan Sowle and Taryn Trosper from the physician assistant program, and Emily Buck and Kaylee Samway from the Radiography program.

The scholarships – made up of a gift of $300,000 in an endowed fund – are awarded to Nebraska high school students who attend UNK and want to pursue a healthcare career in rural Nebraska. Recipients must be pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, a degree in nursing, or be in a pre-professional health care program to qualify.

“This is our way of investing in lives that can have a ripple effect in Nebraska communities,” said Marjorie Maas, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska’s director of community engagement. “It puts the pieces together that support the next generation of healthcare providers.” Article in the BCBS online newsletter>>

Congratulations to Ryan, Taryn, Emily, and Kaylee!
