Baojiang Chen, PhD

Faculty Highlight – Dr. Chen teaches three Biostatistics concentration courses for the COPH MPH Program: Survival Data Analysis, Correlated Data Analysis, and Special Topics in Biostatistics: Linear Algebra. He also serves as a guest lecturer on introductory statistics to residents in the radiology program.  During the past year, Dr. Chen developed two courses for the new PhD program in Biostatistics. JoEllyn M. McMillan, PhD

Faculty Highlight – Dr. McMillan grew up on a small farm in Illinois, where she acquired her interest in toxicology. She pursued this interest at Texas A&M University, where she received her doctorate in toxicology in 1987. She subsequently held two post-doctoral fellowships, first at the National Center for Toxicological Research in Jefferson, Arkansas, then at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston. Peter Iwen, PhD, D(ABMM)

Faculty Highlight – Dr. Peter Iwen teaches foundational clinical microbiology to a variety of students. Within the College of Medicine, he teaches medical mycology lectures, co-coordinates the microbiology wet-labs, and participates in problem-based learning and small group sessions. He also provides didactic lectures on clinical microbiology to the PharmD students and resident pathologists, and to graduate students within the College of Public Health (COPH). Rosa Gofin, MD, MPH

Faculty Highlight – Dr. Rosa Gofin was born in Uruguay, where she pursued her studies in medicine. She moved to Israel, where she earned her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree as part of a specialization in public health in the International Program of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She studied with Dr. Sidney Kark, the pioneer in the development of the Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) approach.
