Matt Walker, PhD, recently joined the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Allied Health Professions as Director of Academic Affairs in 2026. Here’s more about Dr. Walker in his own words:
Prior to joining UNMC, I spent more than two decades at Northwest Missouri State University, where I served in a variety of faculty and administrative leadership roles, including department chair and school director. During my tenure, I led initiatives in curriculum development, academic assessment, online education, and faculty evaluation, while also contributing to university governance and accreditation efforts.
My academic and administrative work has focused on strategic communication, assessment practices, student success initiatives, and the use of data and educational technology to support continuous program improvement. In addition to leadership responsibilities, I’ve taught courses in communication, leadership, and intercultural studies and have participated in institutional committees and search processes related to academic and athletic administration.
