Shannon Roth, PT, DPT, a 2013 graduate from our physical therapy program, received the Student Award for Research from the Academy of Geriatric Physical Therapy, a specialty section of the American Physical Therapy Association. The award recognizes outstanding research-related activity completed by entry-level physical therapy students.
Dawn Venema, PT, PhD, and Joseph Siu, PhD, nominated Ms. Roth based on her work with them on their project, “The Effects of Dual-Task Training in Older Adults with Cognitive Impairment.” Shannon’s contribution to the project was funded by a COM Summer Research Scholarship between her DPT1 and DPT2 years. She presented a research poster of their work at the Midwest Student Biomedical Research Forum and the SAHP Forum on Evidence-Based Medicine.
Congratulations, Shannon!
