Physical Therapy student Suzanne Wing has had two articles published. Suzanne’s articles appeared in the June 2009 edition of the “Student Assembly Pulse” which is a newsletter for Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Students and Faculty Liaisons in the American Physical Therapy Association.
The first article entitled, “PT Students from Different Programs Uniting for a Joint Effort,” reported on the most recent annual volleyball tournament hosted by physical therapy students from UNMC and Creighton University to raise money for the Nebraska Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. The tournament this year raised $5,500 for the Foundation.
The second article was “Student-Run Physical Therapy Clinics: A Common Vision.” Suzanne discussed the Sharing Clinic in Omaha run by UNMC health professional and medical students. Additionally, she was one of the students to participate in the “Sharing the Vision” conference held in Omaha in March which included over 200 students and faculty from seven colleges across the US who are involved in providing care to the underserved. It gave the students the opportunity to present and share their clinic models with other students. We are proud of Suzanne Wing and the other students who participate in this very worthwhile venture.
Congratulations Suzanne for investing in and being involved in your chosen profession through participating in these important extracurricular activities and then sharing that information with others.
