The UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators held a Spotlight on Scholarship event on March 28, highlighting a variety of health sciences education research.
Out of the 17 projects from more than 50 authors, the College of Allied Health Professions pulled in the top three awards.
Outstanding Presentation Awards
First Place went to second-year genetic counseling student Lizz Reese, along with Sarah McBrien, PhD, Brittany Bowman, Laura Cudzilo-Kelsey, MD, and Sara Fisher, for their presentation, Ob/Gyn Residents’ Confidence Completing Prenatal Genetics-Related Tasks Before and After an Interactive Educational Intervention.
Second Place went to Kim Michael, EdD, for A Novel Study to Assess Diagnostic Medical Sonography Students’ Belongingness in the Clinical Learning Environment.
Third Place went to Tanya Custer, PhD(c), for Are You Ready? Assessing the Impact of Online Professional Development on Health Professions Educators’ Readiness and Knowledge for Online and Blended Teaching.
