Sarah Fellman, OTD, OTR/L, CKTP, LSDVT BIG Certified, recently joined our Occupational Therapy program. Here’s more about Dr. Fellman in her own words:
I am very excited to be joining the Occupational Therapy Education team as an assistant professor! I have been an occupational therapist for almost ten years and have clinical experience working with children and adults in multiple settings, as well as nine years of teaching experience. I have expertise in physical rehabilitation and neurorehabilitation and will be teaching in the occupation-based practice course series, but I am hoping to help with other courses as well.
My past research has focused on examining the effectiveness of assessments in various practice settings as well as on assessment development related to caregiver health and well-being. Now that I have joined UNMC, I am hoping to focus future research on the scholarship of teaching and learning as well as examining various interventions for persons with neurological conditions.
I was born and raised in Omaha, Neb., and attended Creighton University for both my undergraduate and occupational therapy education. My husband and I have two daughters, Josephine who is six and Charlotte who is three. We enjoy doing anything outdoors, watching sports, and especially enjoy when we’re able to ride our two horses.
