Leah Stade, OTD, OTR/L, is new faculty in our Occupational Therapy program. Learn more about Leah in her own words:
“I am delighted to join the UNMC Family! The excitement around developing an Occupational Therapy Doctorate educational program is an honor to experience. The reputation of UNMC in Nebraska and beyond, makes working for this University a pleasure. I have known since my time at Creighton University, that I had a passion for students and a desire to be a part of their education. My doctoral capstone project in Fieldwork Education at Pacific University only fueled that passion further. After nearly 15 years as a clinician and fieldwork educator in a number of OT settings, the opportunity to work in academia is truly a dream come true!
As a proud Nebraskan, I cannot wait to serve our rural healthcare settings through the field of Occupational Therapy. I look forward to partnering with clinicians all over our great state to develop future practitioners, ready to take on the challenges of an evolving healthcare system and develop new areas for OT to emerge. As the wife of a 5th generation farmer, and mother to two young boys, I look forward to being a part of the UNMC campus in Kearney and furthering my relationships with the Kearney community.”
