Ka-Chun (Joseph) Siu, PhD, associate professor in the UNMC Division of Physical Therapy Education and director of the Chinese MS-DPT program, and Jung Hung (JC) Chien, PhD, post-doctoral research associate were selected recently as finalists at the Institutional Development Award (IDeA)-Clinical and Translational Research (CTR) superstar competition.
“We pitched our research idea at the annual IDeA-CTR meeting in October and were honored to be among the top three finalists,” said Siu.
Their project was titled, “A mobile application for enhancing health care access for older adults in rural and isolated areas.”
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) established the IDeA program in 1993 to enhance biomedical research activities in states that have had historically low NIH grant funding success rates.
