Linda L. Fell, MS, MASCP, MLS(ASCP)CMSHCM, was recently admitted into the Alpha Mu Tau Fraternity. The mission of Alpha Mu Tau is to recognize ASCLS members who have made outstanding professional contributions to the field of clinical laboratory science and to enhance the profession by providing scholarships to support educational endeavors.
Ms. Fell and the five other new Alpha Mu Tau members were announced at the ASCLS meeting in late July. New members were admitted “in recognition of high attainments in clinical laboratory science.”

An outstanding ASCP leader and volunteer for many years, Ms. Fell served on the ASCP Board of Directors and as Chair of the Associate Council in 2005. On behalf of the ASCP’s Global Initiatives, she has traveled to Malawi, Lesotho, and Tanzania to help train laboratory professionals in under-developed countries. She was also co-chair of the ASCP/ASCLS Task Force on Collaboration in 2005-2007.
Director of the Clinical Laboratory Science Program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Ms. Fell received the ASCP’s Member Excellence in Education Award and an ASCP Mastership in 2007.
