Congratulations to the following School of Allied Health Professions faculty who received COM Educational Support grants totaling over $10,000 for 2010-2011 to enhance educational instruction:
- Kim Michael, program director in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, will purchase a Transvaginal Ultrasound Training Model. The model will provide simulated training for sonography students to develop scanning skills.
- Lisa Bartenhagen, program director in the Radiation Therapy program will purchase ten educational modules on Computed Tomography (CT). These modules will be used for interprofessional education in RSTE to enhance the students’ application of CT knowledge in actual clinical situations.
- Amber Donnelly, program director in the Cytotechnology program, will develop educational modules of Cervical, Breast and Pulmonary Cytopathology. These will include virtual microscopy whole image slides for cytotechnology students, pathology and OB-GYN residents and pulmonary fellows that will be available on the UNMC intranet.
