Meagan Kankovsky, LICSW, has been named Department of Psychiatry Clinic Manager, effective June 16, 2025.
Kankovsky has held the role on an interim basis since replacing long-time clinic manager Maggie Milner in February 2025.

“Since taking on the interim role four months ago, not only has Meagan navigated several weather and infrastructure-related emergencies with sound judgment and composure, but she has also demonstrated a commitment to learning, courage in taking on new challenges, strong organizational skills, consistent follow-through, and a willingness to engage all necessary stakeholders in problem resolution,” said David Cates, Vice Chair for Clinical Services in the Department of Psychiatry. “I look forward to continuing to work with Meagan in this role.”
As clinic manager, Kankovsky will oversee all daily clinic operations to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient clinic workflows, regulatory compliance, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration among clinical and administrative staff.
“I’ve worked for Nebraska Medicine for almost eight years, six of those being in psychiatry,” Kankovsky said.” This department feels like ‘home,’ and I love it here, so when the chance arose for me to get back into management (I was a director at my previous employer), I jumped at the opportunity. The providers, staff, patients, and culture here make being the clinic manager a desirable position for me to continue to grow in my leadership skills, and I’m excited for the years to come.”
Kankovsky is also an Ambulatory Supervisor for Clinical Therapists at Nebraska Medicine. As a therapist, she has extensive experience working with diverse populations and an interest in treating depression and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, and working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is proficient in multiple treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
