McGoogan Library’s new Graphic Designer, Carli Cominoli is a lifelong Omaha resident who cares deeply about how her community sees and is seen.
Among the cornerstones of her career to date: work within the graphics department at Omaha’s renowned Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. The position afforded her unforgettable experiences, such as cuddling up to a baby Siberian tiger, but also allowed Carli to help shape the visual identity of one of the city’s truest and most public-facing organizations.
Carli answers a similar call as she comes to McGoogan. The library’s values of inclusion and access as well as its stated mission—to connect the past, inform the present and build the future—resonate, she said.
Color often leads Carli’s eye, she said, as she enjoys thinking about and applying the theory behind blues, greens and their like. Other hallmarks of her design work include a clear and intentional look and a desire to draw in and fascinate the viewer.
Outside work, Carli practices yoga, tends her sunflower garden, drives her classic Trans Am, and spends her NFL Sundays with family cheering on the Chicago Bears.
