Six Generative AI Exploration Workshops Set for January

Generative AI Exploration Workshop

The McGoogan Health Sciences Library has announced six Generative AI Exploration workshops. These workshops will be offered in person and via Zoom. UNMC Omaha campus faculty and staff are encouraged to attend the in-person workshops. UNMC Lincoln, Kearney, Norfolk, and Scottsbluff-Gering campuses can register for the workshops via Zoom.

Attendees will explore popular generative AI tools (i.e., Bard, ChatGPT, Bing CoPilot and Claude), learn basic functions and create prompts with McGoogan Library librarians, Teri Hartman and Jess King. These workshops will leave plenty of time for attendees to share what they know and learn from others. For the in-person workshops, attendees are asked to bring their own device for a hands-on AI encounter (smart phone, mobile Wi-Fi device, laptop, etc.). Online attendees should be ready to use their own device.

McGoogan Library Generative AI Exploration workshops schedule:

  • Tues., Jan. 9, noon–1 p.m. at MCPH 3013 (College of Public Health)
  • Tues., Jan. 16, noon–1 p.m. at WHM 6032 (Wittson Hall, McGoogan Library)
  • Wed., Jan. 17, noon–1 p.m. via Zoom

  • Tues., Jan. 23, 10–10:50 a.m. at DRC 1 1002 (Durham Research Center 1)
  • Wed., Jan. 24, 2–3 p.m. via Zoom

Snacks will be provided at the in-person workshops. Registered attendees for the Zoom workshops will be entered into a prize drawing.

Individuals interested in attending one of the workshops are encouraged to stop by the in-person locations on their respective dates or register via Zoom for their preferred date.
