As Student Senate President, Peterson also serves as a non-voting member on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. In 2006, he participated in the inaugural class of the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program, a six-week summer academic enrichment program that offers undergraduates intensive and personalized medical and dental school preparation. He then graduated from the UNMC School of Allied Health Profession’s Radiation Science Technology Education program before pursuing a medical degree. With a long interest in student leadership, he previously served as the senate’s secretary and vice president.
