Mary Kay Foundation Cancer Grant Application

Limited funding opportunity, one applicant per institution.
Award amount:  up to $100,000 for a two-year period

The Mary Kay Foundation, a funding source for cancer research, is currently accepting applications for innovative grants for translational research in ovarian, uterine, breast, or cervical cancer.

The program will offer between ten to fifteen grants. The awards will be up to $100,000 each (combined direct and indirect. Indirect costs cannot exceed 15%.) That may be used in a one year period or up to two years. Applications must be submitted by one Principal Investigator, selected by the Institution. Only one grant application will be accepted from each invited cancer research institute or medical school. Grants are limited to the United States.

The Principal Investigator that completes the applications must be Asst., Assoc., or Full time professor and the same person who signs the electronic signature. Names must match exactly. Postdoctoral trainees and instructors are NOT eligible.

Announcement of the grant awards will be made on or about May 1, 2019.  A letter will be sent to the Principal Investigator following review of the applications.

Applications should include:

  • Cover page
  • Current Financial Support (2 pages max)
  • NIH Biosketch or Equivalent, (5 pages max, all in one attachment)
  • Grant application (5 pages)
  • References (2 pages max)
  • Letters of collaboration (3 pages max)

Proposals will be reviewed by a UNMC review committee which will select the applicant to move forward.  The final proposal must submitted to the sponsor by 5 PM CST, Friday, February 8, 2019.
