What brought you to the field of public health? I started my career in clinical medicine then I realized that public health has a bigger impact when it comes to solving global health problems, especially the ones related to minorities and for those in conflict settings. “Saving lives, a million at a time.”
What do you like most about the COPH? I like that it is a small college where people know each other, and all faculty are within the student’s reach.
What are your career goals after graduation? I am interested in a career in international health with a special focus on the health of refugees and displaced persons.
Three things people may not know about me:
- The same day I was born the world population reached 5 billion people
- I have never watched a single episode of “Game of Thrones.”
- My name means “Morning Dew” in Arabic and “Nothing” in Spanish
