NAMI works through education, support, advocacy, listening, and leadership to achieve this goal.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Department of Psychiatry volunteers at events throughout the year. Akers said it\u2019s been a busy spring with events including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Food donations for the UNMC food drive (March)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UNMC Campus Suicide Awareness\/Prevention fundraiser walk (March)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mental Health Awareness booth at Omaha Storm Chasers. Mark Aksamit, PA, threw out the first pitch.
